Information that you must provide within the meaning of Art. 13 contact details

In order to comply with our legal obligations to provide information within the meaning of Art. 13 GDPR, we hereby inform you about our handling of your data in business communication with you and Messe Husum & Congress GmbH & Co. KG (Messe Husum).

When you first contact us (e.g. by telephone, eMail, contact form, etc.), whether on your part or on our part, e.g. as a potential customer/exhibitor, visitor, service provider, etc., we store your data both in our eMail address book and in our (customer) administration system, in so far as we assume that further communication will take place between you and us.

Depending on the type of business communication, we store the following data in our systems:

Corporate contacts

  • Company name
  • Company address
  • Company eMail address
  • Company telephone number
  • Contact name
  • Contact telephone extension
  • Contact eMail address (business)
  • Data from registration form (exhibitor)

Contacts with private customers (event visitors)

  • Name
  • eMail
  • Telephone number and address (only if this data is necessary for further processing)

If a business relationship between you and Messe Husum does not exist as yet, we will only use the aforementioned data for the purpose of communication or processing your enquiries.

The data described above is stored on our eMail server and on the server of our (customer) administration system. The servers are both located in the data centre of our service provider Stormedia – Digitalagentur in Frankfurt. Our service provider has no access to your data. We store your data for the period of communication or the processing of your enquiry, provided that no business relationship is established between you and us. In addition, we archive all our business eMail correspondence for up to 5 years, to fulfil legal obligations to provide evidence or to defend against legal claims.

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) or (c) GDPR. Without the storage of your data, communication between you and us, especially by electronic means, is not possible or only possible to a limited extent.

Our web host:

Both our eMail server and the server of our (customer) administration system are operated in the computer centre of our web host in Frankfurt.

Our advertising agency:

The agency for our websites has administrative rights to maintain our websites, to develop them further and also to ensure IT security on the web servers. It does not have direct access to our stock of personal data, but it cannot be completely ruled out that the agency may learn of personal data in the course of its work.

We hereby inform you that you have the right to information. You can also assert your right to restrict processing and deletion at any time. The right to deletion may be suspended if we are obliged to store the data concerned under another legal provision (e.g. for accounting reasons) or if the data is required to defend against legal claims. Furthermore, you can exercise your rights to object to the processing and the transferability of data.

You have the right to revoke your consent to data processing (in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 a) GDPR) at any time. For this purpose please send us an eMail to datenschutz@messehusum.com

To assert your rights as a data subject, you can do so either in writing, by telephone or by eMail to datenschutz@messehusum.com.

Should you assert your rights as a data subject in a way that is not in writing, please understand that we may require proof of your identity.

If you believe that we have not adequately assisted you in exercising your rights, you have the right to contact any data protection supervisory authority.
